Last night, I watched the election results with cautious optimism. As each county reported, I held my breath wondering if we would elect a Senator who represents the best or the worst in Alabama. Thanks to thousands of volunteers around the state, we put Alabama values on display. We showed that we believe in the power of hardwork. We believe that healthcare shouldn’t be a privledge afforded to the few and that education should be a priority for all. We showed that Etowah County women deserve to be believed and respect for your neighbor is still a cherished tradition.

As Harper Lee wrote Attticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, “I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what.” Last night, we showed courage.

If we can win now, we can win in 2018. We can bring commonsense values back to Montgomery. We can release Alabama from the stranglehold of bad governement. We can show Alabama deserves better.

Donate to ensure we can take this momentum to Etowah County in 2018
